Talk/Music Series

1. The Spiritual Origins of Music
Thursday, March 4; 7 to 8:30 p.m. at RBG Centre.
The surprisingly obvious yet little-known truth about the ultimate source of music, what music really is and what it is actually intended for.

2. The Therapeutic Value of Music
Thursday, March 11; 7 to 8:30 p.m. at RBG Centre.
Robert will explain some specific ways and circumstances in which music can be healing or an uplifting experience.

3. Musical Aesthetics and Music as True Art
Thursday, March 18; 7 to 8:30 p.m. at RBG Centre.
A look at music as a means of upliftment vs. music as a means for entertainment and diversion. Robert Bruce performs on the piano and explains the common thread running through music/art, beauty and spirituality that makes some music truly profound, meaningful and far-reaching.

4. Music as a Living Language
Thursday, March 25; 7 to 8:30 p.m. at RBG Centre.
In Robert Bruce’s introductory-level talk, suitable for all ages 12, he introduces the basics in learning to use the language of music. While he plays, he points out the 2 major approaches to writing/composing music.
